a delightful DIY necklace

Okay. This necklace has to be the easiest DIY I’ve ever attempted! I saw the idea on A Pretty Penny and followed her clear instructions and lovely photos to make a few of my own.

All you need is an old cotton shirt (preferably one without side seams!) and a pair of scissors. My magenta top was cut on the bias, so the cotton didn’t curl so well, but it still looks rather lovely! I matched it with a khaki dress and loved the two colours together.

The thing I love about these kind of projects is that something old, that would usually be chucked out, gets a second chance at life. And I didn’t have to buy anything. And just one new accessory such as this can put back the spark in a daggy wardrobe!
