The Uniform Project

I’m now up to Day Two Hundred and Forty Eight of my Gratitude project, and I’m loving it. I really am going to treasure these photos forever and I can’t believe I only have 117 days left.

Here’s another 365 Day project I stumbled across the other day… The Uniform Project. It’s intense!

In May 2009, a girl by the name of Sheena Matheiken pledged to wear the same dress every single day for 365 days. She had to make it look unique each day, and she wasn’t allowed to purchase anything new.

Through the project, she raised over $100,000 to provide education for Indian slum children, was featured in the New York Times, CNN, BBC, Vogue, Elle, Glamour, Marie Claire etc etc, and named one of Elle Magazine’s Women of the Year in 2009.

She’s incredibly creative and must of had an amazing wardrobe to start out with – but what an inspiring and crazy project to undertake! And how did she keep the dress clean?!
