career advice

Where do you go for your career advice?

I love chatting with others, especially here in Nairobi where a lot more people are working in my area, have similar goals / values and are facing similar challenges – visas, cultural differences, couples managing two international careers etc.

I also stumbled upon Levo League a few months ago. They describe themselves as ‘a growing community of professional women seeking advice, inspiration and the tools needed to succeed‘ and amongst various features, I like scrolling through their articles for helpful bits and pieces. Here’s a quick selection, but it’s worth checking out the whole site:

The introvert’s guide to networking.

How to write a cover letter.

Delete these 5 things from your resume.

Why I loved going back to work after having a baby.

What six successful women were doing in their 20’s

How to stand out as an intern.

Seven habits of exceptionally resilient people.

Is it ever okay to cry at work? (and what to do when you do)

How to exit from your job gracefully.

P.S. – A great read on faith and work, and my favourite career advice book.
