In an effort to turn our house into a home, I’m collecting ideas and inspiration for art we can hang on our bare walls. I’ve got a handful of DIY ideas and a wishlists of lovely pieces to buy, so I thought I’d turn my mullings into a little blog series – let’s call it Art for Every Room – and perhaps we can all try to include a little more art in our lives!
This is my final Art for Every Room post and we’re ending in the bedroom, always my favourite room! I’ve found it hard to create a DIY for our room when we haven’t set it up yet (we haven’t got any furniture but a bed!). So instead I’m sharing a couple of DIY projects I’ve seen around the place. I hope they give you some inspiration!
Elsie’s Handwriting Statement Wall by A Beautiful Mess
For those of you with the freedom to paint your walls, here’s an art idea that can really personalise your room. With your handwriting and a favourite phrase or lyric, this is a big statement piece!
Paint Chip Wall Art by How About Orange
This DIY can be adapted to any colour scheme! And if triangles aren’t your thing, try hexagons or a checkerboard effect instead.
Quilted Modern Art by A Beautiful Mess
This fabric-based art would add lovely warmth to a room, and again, it can be adapted to the colours of your fancy. Though I’m rather partial to the simplicity of the white and mustard.
Circle Punch Art by Mer Mag
I love this piece! And the creator, Merrilee, was able to involved her boys in the whole process, making it even more special. It would be a great DIY for the crafter with too much scrap booking paper.
And here are a few more ideas:
Nail Yarn Wall Art from JenLovesKev
Handpainted Globes from One Canoe Two
DIY Light Up Headboard from A Beautiful Mess
Octopus Art (using the coolest shower curtain!) from 6th Street Design School
I hope you’ve enjoyed exploring some new art with me through this series!
